Nine representatives of six well-known agencies in St. Petersburg, some of them already active in the market for more than 15 years, received a training certificate by Dutch vice Consul-General Esselien van Eerten. The consulate answered questions about visa matters and procedures.
It was the first training for educational companies in Russia organized by Nuffic Neso. In the Radisson SAS Hotel on Nevsky Prospekt they received a detailed presentation on How to apply to a Dutch university and on the visa application procedure.
The agencies were happy with the training, since Holland is still quite unknown in the Russian market as a provider of English language study programmes. With this training, Nuffic Neso hopes that educational companies will promote Study in Holland amongst students and their parents.
Nuffic Neso would also like to see more Dutch universities making agreements with reliable agencies in Russia. It is estimated that Russia has ore than 100 agencies. At the moment Nuffic Neso is conducting market research among them.
The elements of the Training Programme were: film on Study in Holland, Why Study in Holland?, the Dutch System of Higher Education, the Application Procedure and Visa to the Netherlands.
In the anonymous survey competed after the seminar some agency representatives wrote: ‘The best country and visa presentation ever!’
The participating educational agencies were: Academconsult, I class, IQ Consultancy, Oxbridge, Petrolingua and Studyline.
The next training for agencies will be held in Moscow, Tuesday 06 October, in the Nuffic Neso Russia office.
