Fees for residence permits increased as of 1 July

05 Jul 2011

As of 1 July 2011, the fees for an application for a provisional residence permit (Machtiging tot Voorlopig Verblijf, or MVV) and for a residence permit (Verblijfsvergunning, or VVR) have been increased.

The increase is in line with the coalition agreement, which states that the fees should be as cost-effective as possible.

How will this affect you?

Students who paid before 1 July were charged the low fee, but students who pay their fee after 1 July will have to pay the higher rate.

The increase in fees does not apply to EU/EEA nationals nor to Turkish nationals and their families with rights according to the Association Agreement between Turkey and the EU.
