Study in Russia: summer courses 2011
12 Apr 2011
More Russian universities are offering English taught summer courses.
Are you thinking about an unusual, exciting and also useful way of spending your summer holidays? Do you want to meet new friends and have a great time whilst exploring another culture and broadening your knowledge? Why not turn your head eastward and do a summer course in Russia!
In summer 2011 Russian universities all over the country will be offering various programmes (taught in English) for international students. The Nuffic Neso Russia office in Moscow has made an overview of the available courses which you can download from our website.
Russia occupies one ninth of the world’s landmass. Major cities stretch all the way from its European part (Moscow, Novgorod and St. Petersburg) through the Ural mountains (Ufa, Yekaterinburg), on into Siberia (Omsk, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk) and all the way to Vladivostok in the Far East. Since the mid- 1990s Russia’s higher educational system has maintained the best of its historic traditions whilst also changing its structure according to the Bologna model. A lot of Russian universities now offer a wide range of programmes taught in English and have established double-degree programmes, as well as exchange programmes with foreign universities.

The university will send you an invitation which you have to bring with other supporting documents (see http://www.ambru.nl) to the Russian Consulate in the Hague.
Housing
All universities provide accommodation to international students. The accommodation costs may or may not be included in the price of the course - please check these payment arrangements carefully!
Scholarships
There are only a few universities which offer financial support. Information about scholarship opportunities can be found on the websites of the summer programmes.
