Total number of scholarships: 2

  • Each scholarship worth €5.400 per academic year and only partly covers living expenses (€450/month) and does not cover tuition fee. In case the OTS granted a student has to pay 100% of the tuition fee as well as have sufficient funds to cover the rest of the living expences. More information about daily expenses can be found here
  • Eligible programmes: all Master, research Master and Erasmus Mundus Master programs offered by the RUG Faculty of Arts

Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree
  • TOEFL iBT or  IELTS (Score varies per master programme, check admission requirements of the preferred master programme), or CAE/CPE (Min. score: C1).
  • Admission requirements vary per master programme and each application is assessed on an individual basis. Check detailed information on Master programme, course and application requirements at www.rug.nl/masters/in-english
  • Please note: all official documents should be in English. If the original language is another, candidates need to send scanned copies of the documents in the original language  + certified translations. The motivation letter and CV should always be in English.

Important: incomplete files will not be considered for the scolarship, only candidates with an unconditional admission are eligible

All programmes are accredited by the Dutch-Flemish Accreditation Organization (NVAO) and all degrees are internationally recognized.

The Faculty of Arts is the university’s most diverse faculty, with 15 Bachelor’s and over 40 Master’s degree programmes in the field of Archaeology, (Art) History, International Relations, Communication, Journalism, Language and Literary Studies and Linguistics. Also, various regional studies are offered e.g. East Asian Studies, American Studies, European Integration, Middle Eastern Studies. Over 30 of the Master’s programmes we offer are completely taught in English. Over 5,000 students are currently participating in these programmes and the number of international students – degree as well as exchange students - is growing every year.
